Eight Monterey Institute faculty and alumni participated in the 2013 Middlebury Clifford Symposium, a collaborative effort between the Monterey Institute and Middlebury College highlighting language programs on both campuses.
The popular four-year-old student club B.U.I.L.D. continues to offer free language lessons to both MIIS students and the wider Monterey community, with the addition this year of teacher seminars and curriculum support for new teachers.

Summer has arrived at the Monterey Institute with an influx of students studying Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish and Japanese as part of the Monterey Institute’s Summer Intensive Language Program, and an even more international group enrolled in the Intensive English Program.
Reflecting the great quality of its program, the MIIS Intensive English as a Second Language Program has been formally accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation.
