Strategic Plan Kick-Off
Dear Middlebury Community,
We write with an update on our strategic planning process and an invitation for you to become involved.
Today for the first time we convened our steering committee and the 12 themed working groups—nearly 150 people—at Bicentennial Hall and on Zoom to talk about how the process will unfold as we work toward our goal of May completion. Each working group has a designated chair and Senior Leadership Group liaison, who will serve as an additional resource and connection point. You can find all the members of the working groups and the steering committee on our strategic planning website.
Your input as a stakeholder is crucial for the working groups in developing priorities and recommendations. The steering committee will review these recommendations and synthesize them into a comprehensive strategic plan for President Baucom to review and share with the trustees in May.
We encourage you to add your voice. Please save the date of Tuesday, December 2, from 3 to 5 p.m., for an open meeting at Wilson Hall. This will be a chance for you to engage with specific working groups. We’ll have tables set up in Wilson for each working group, and we invite you to drop in at tables of interest to share your insights.
If you can’t make it to the December open meeting, there will be another open meeting with the working groups on Thursday, January 15, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. You can also share your thoughts anytime through our , and we will plan to hold open remote meetings as well for those who cannot attend the in-person meetings. We will share details about the remote meetings and other opportunities to participate in the coming weeks and months.
We look forward to the conversations, creativity, and shared purpose that will emerge in the months ahead.
Sincerely,
Jessica Holmes
