Students at the  have the option of enrolling in an Arts Management Track. This interdisciplinary special track is comprised of two main components: direct-enroll courses at the university and the option of an internship in the field, coordinated by the School in Puerto Rico and supervised by a local leader, professional, or professor.  This track will give students the opportunity to engage with the topic of arts management in an interdisciplinary manner and may appeal to students interested in graduate studies in Arts Management, Sustainable Development, Business Administration, and Entrepreneurship, and in working in fields such as the Creative industries, Art Education, Cultural Policy and Advocacy, among others.

As stated in Sagrado’s description of its unique , the program “prepares professional leaders with the necessary skills to create and support companies and projects in the creative industries sector.” Moreover, students “will develop decision-making skills, teamwork and creative thinking for the creation of management strategies. These skills are developed through topics relevant to the industry, including legal aspects, business models, marketing, finance, and administration.”  

Students not interested in enrolling in a track may opt to participate in our standard, direct-enrollment program.

University Courses 

Students will have the opportunity to take three or four courses alongside Puerto Rican students at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón or three courses and an internship. Courses offered include The Business of Arts and Entertainment, Public, legal and Ethical Aspects in the Arts and Entertainment, Principles of Marketing, Accounting for Managers, Business Management for Arts and Entertainment, The Music Business, Sports Management, Event Production, Business Models and Digital Marketing, among others. 

Please note: Courses offered vary each semester. All courses taken by School in Puerto Rico students must be fully in-person.

While at Sagrado, students will also take the Middlebury course, SPAN2401P Writing for Linguistic and Cultural Competence (0.5 MIDD UNITS), with a local professor.

Internships

Eligible students may have the option to work in institutions in San Juan such as , , among others.

Please note: An internship opportunity in one of these organizations or projects is not guaranteed. Internship assignments depend on the student’s interests and qualifications, and the organization’s specific needs at the time.  

Students interested in interning must verify that their home institutions will accept academic credit for an internship. General internship and research application procedures and deadlines will apply.
