Arabic School Alumni Spotlight

Middlebury Arabic! أهلا وسهلا بكم ahlan wa sahlan bikum from Mauritania’s Saharan desert!
More than half way through Ibn Malik’s 1000-lined Arabic poem al-Alfiyyia, wooooo!—a cause for celebration!
This is my third year studying Arabic literature and grammar in a traditional Mauritania Mahdara with almost a thousand other students (young men and women from Mali and Senegal) and I could not, in no way, have gotten here without Middlebury!
The Middlebury Arabic School’s student-centered immersive setting and all the work—and fun!—that goes into making the Arabic School summer session has made a huge and, probably, the critical difference in encouraging me to continue immersive linguistic and cross-cultural studies.
