Professor Sharad Joshi Featured on NPR’s All Things Considered
The May 27 feature “” on the popular National Public Radio (NPR) afternoon program focused on the security of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons after the death of Osama bin Laden. NPR Foreign Affairs Correspondent Jackie Northam turned to Professor Sharad Joshi, an expert on terrorism and nuclear weapons at the Monterey Institute, to explain the origins of renewed concerns about the security of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons arsenal. He spoke specifically about a recent attack on a navy facility close to a nuclear weapons storage site and suggested that there might have been internal involvement.
Professor Joshi teaches in the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies program and is also a research associate with the Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program (MonTREP).
