Int’l Herald Tribune, NY Times Publish Op-Ed by CNS Experts
, Director of the Monterey Institute’s , and adjunct professor co-authored an op-ed piece () that was published by the International Herald Tribune and reprinted by the New York Times today.
In their essay, Dr. Potter and Professor Mukhatzhanova discuss the findings of a multi-year study they conducted that discounts alarmist proclamations by politicians and others about so called “nuclear dominos” falling. According to Potter and Mukhatzhanova, forecasts have routinely overestimated the pace of nuclear proliferation. The co-authors argue that while the risk of weapons spread is real and ongoing, evidence does not support the frequent implication in media and political circles that the proverbial proliferation sky is falling.
