The arrival of record numbers of migrants generated a series of policies, which have furthered the humanitarian crisis on the border. Yet, there is limited discussion about the borderlands themselves: how border enforcement affects those who respond to the humanitarian crisis; how local communities cope, and how people on the move resist border security. This presentation examines the claims often articulated about the US Mexico borderlands and explores the possible humanitarian and migration policy under the forthcoming presidency.

Gabriella Sanchez, PhD, is research fellow at the Collaborative on Global Children’s Issues at Georgetown University.

For more information on RCGA events, visit our website.
DeFoor, Margaret (802) 443-5324 mdefoor@middlebury.edu Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs; Geography; Int'l Politics & Economics; Political Science; Axinn Center for the Humanities; International & Global Studies; Anthropology Fri, 02 Aug 2024 14:20:03 +0000 Anonymous 155340 at /events Thesis Presentation- Ola Zalecki /events/index.php/event/thesis-presentation-ola-zalecki Thesis Presentation- Ola Zalecki Anonymous (not verified) Tue, 04/30/2024 - 10:15 McCardell Bicentennial Hall 538 Closed to the Public Ola Zalecki, ‘24, Geography Major will be presenting her Thesis.
