Students looking to connect their liberal arts education to real-world impact should mark their calendars for Thursday, April 24, when CCI will host an alumni panel discussion titled “.”
The event, which will run from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Davis Library Room 105 A/B, invites students of all majors to discover the surprising range of career paths within the life sciences—an industry that blends science, creativity, business, and innovation.
You don’t need to be a science major to attend. In fact, the panel is designed to show how students from STEM, social sciences, and humanities can all find meaningful roles in this rapidly evolving field.
The event will be moderated by Professor Jeremy Ward, Albert D. Mead Professor of Biology and Vice President of Academic Affairs. The panel features six Middlebury alumni who are now leaders in the life sciences industry, including professionals in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, animal health, and health economics.
Confirmed panelists include:
- Andre Spring ’88, VP, Head of Global Oncology Marketing, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
- Nathan Rudd ’13, Senior Scientist, Formulation Development, Animal Health
- Eli Miller ’21, Senior Research Associate, Ring Therapeutics
- Brad Schenke ’97, Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Sun Pharmaceuticals
- Chris Mycek ’89, Head of Commercialization, BW Health Group
- Kirsten Detrick ’87, Senior Commercial Leader (Takeda, Amgen, BMS) and Adjunct Professor, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
From developing breakthrough therapies to shaping health policy and marketing strategies, these alumni will share their career journeys and offer advice on breaking into the industry—no matter your academic background.
The event also provides an excellent networking opportunity for students hoping to learn more about internships, post-grad roles, and how a Middlebury education can open unexpected doors.
“Life Sciences in Action” is free and open to all students. To learn more or RSVP, visit the event page on .
