UNICEF Global Emergencies Benefit
Show: “Voices of Youth”
Middlebury College students of all
nations will perform dances, songs, poetry readings and music to
raise funds for the children of the world caught in ethnic conflict,
famine, poverty, ignorance, abuse and societal injustice. In between
performances, there will be inspirational film clips that peek into
the homes and lives of these children. Exotic snacks and drinks will
be available.
McCullough Student Center, Old Chapel
Road off South Main Street (Route 30)
Tickets are $6 for general admission
and $2 for children. Tickets are available daily beginning Monday,
April 23, from 5-7 p.m. outside Proctor Hall on Hepburn Road off
College Street (Route 125), and at the Grille in McCullough Student
Center on Old Chapel Road off South Main Street (Route 30). Tickets
will also be available at the door.

Lecture: “The People of Iraq:
Burdened by Oil and Sacrificed for Sanctions”
Abbas Alnasrawi, professor of
economics at the University of Vermont, will speak about the current
humanitarian crisis in Iraq, and the relationship between the crisis
and the sanctions against this country by the United
States.
