The annual spring concert, one of the major annual
events coordinated by the Middlebury College Activities Board
(MCAB), is open to the public.
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones,
a punk/ska band from Boston, Mass., has recorded five albums including
its very popular recent release “Let’s Face It.” The
racially-mixed, musically diverse Mighty Mighty Bosstones first
formed in 1985 as merely the Bosstones—the “Mighty Mighty”
appeared several gig fliers later—around a nucleus of friends
with two things in common: roots in the Boston hardcore scene
and an appreciation for a much wider range of music, ska in particular.
Its high-octane live performances have brought the band widespread
popularity.
H2O
is a New York City-based hardcore rock band born out of frontman
Toby Morse’s desire to make a lasting contribution to the genre.
Morse began by enlisting the help of musicians Rusty Pistachio,
Eric Rice and Max Capshaw, and, after their first show in December
1994, toured up and down the East coast leaving an inimitable
trail of influence. Lyrically, the band emphasizes positivity,
loyalty and personal responsibility in such blistering songs as
“Wake Up,” “Everready,” and the title song,
“Thicker Than Water,” of their first full-length effort
now due for release on the Epitaph label.
The Shods is a punk band
from Boston, Mass. A living, breathing embodiment of everything
that many consider great, the band blends straight-out punk, Elvis
Costello-influenced pop, rocker a la Clash, and good ol’ fashioned
bluesy rock and roll for performances that seem to pour—with
every ounce of sweat—excitement and energy into every song. Their
newest release is titled “Bamboozled, Jilted, Hornswaggled
+&Բ;Ǵǻɾ.”
